Reflection...

This whole 2008 I had been done plenty of reflection, as in teachers' training course, everything we must reflect back to ourselves. So, let's make a review of my course. This whole year, I discovered myself as a person full of possibilities, I kept outdo myself, from learning swimming in a dirty muddy river mouth, hill hiking, walked in a dark creepy woods (of course with the help of my kind and thoughtful friends, I even do not get hurt or a single wound, they are my best 'eyes' and 'bodyguards'!) I even learn the smartest way to study, it's to know your own abilities, don't force yourself towards the edge limits, I mean in studies... As I don't want to end up in Tanjung Rambutan or even Tampoi or elsewhere similar... And I earned friendship... Thanks to all who help me through this year... I was once very afraid and set limits to myself, but because of all of you, I'd got through. Thanks! Especially to my fellow classmates! PCKH rocks forever!...

Don't judge the book by its cover...

They said it's a brain-washed camp, but I found it just stated the government's position, even the Constitution. It judged the position of non-Malays in its own way. You might not agree with it, but still, you must respect it... I enjoyed it another way. i enjoyed 5 meals (even 6) per day. I enjoyed ice-breaking activities and even the closing ceremony. I even enjoyed how they managed the module of our courses, made it not obvious to strike the core purpose - to trust and support your own country without second thought. It's killing me in terms of not letting me sleep enough, other than that, it's the best camp I ever had for this year after BIG and BSMM camp that made me starved till near-death.... We are proud to be Malaysians! I hope everyone will, and our children will too!

Exam... exam...

Exam's just around the corner, and I'm back to old dilemma again, I don't want to study!! But still, I will study, only I have to conquer my devil in my heart first... haha... My D-day, 3-5 November.

Holiday! Yay! ( 7 weeks of summary)

Holiday... this has been on my mind since the first week of my Praktikum (training in teaching). I started off on 30 June. Everyday since was a nightmare. Not enough sleep everyday. Writing 'creative' and 'innovative' daily lesson plan everyday... (I could not make it most of the time for that 'creative' part...) Doing and making ABM (for teaching aids actually, from traditional flash card to modern powerpoint and voice recording...) These activities had became my life since that day. I could not wait for holiday since then too... haha... Luckily, I'd made it through for 7 weeks, now the remaining 5 weeks are not a bright future though, every week then there will be lecturer or my mentor in school coming to my class observing me teaching... T_T I want to graduate the sooner the greater!!

After four months plus...

After four months in college, I started to appreaciate that time flies. If not, I can't figure out how I survived through these days. Haha. Kind of weak for me to endure those kind of phisical activity, so I always hope for rain during the PE session and Co-curricular activities... Not a good student, huh?? Hope I won't meet such in future... Anyway, I'm glad that I never give up, and lucky to have supportive classmates that watched each other backs. Hope we stay on this spirit! Next semester, we will keep it up!

B.I.G. Camp

OK, B.I.G. was my nightmare, but once I’d been, surprisingly, I enjoy it! B.I.G. stands for Bina Insan Guru, some sort of outbound camp, used to be very dangerous and ‘Survivor’ type for those my seniors, but they modified it, ‘cause ‘something’ happened. Now, no more flying fox, no more sitting in the middle of the jungle in the midnight with only some ‘sulfur’ surrounding you. First day, we were sent to the camp site by BUS (I thought we need to walk) to Tg. Sedili, somewhere near Kota Tinggi, Johor. Then, we set up our camp. The funniest part was one lecturer asked us to nail our camp, another said don’t. Later, we didn’t nail our camp, the lecturer who said ‘must’ came around, then scolded us. So, life in college, being scolded and ‘Smile’. Plus, every meal since we arrived at the campsite was cooked by everyone of us, in turns. But three groups of Majoring Mandarin plus one group of Majoring English had good cooks among us! The 4 days 3 nights there, I ate the best meal ever sinc...

LIfe....

No tv... No online for four days more... (now only can access... super slow though) No food... (very limited by time, or I should say control by the sun?) No casual wear (especially jeans... in all kinds! also no jeans when you are out of campus) Everyday class 7.30 to 4.30pm, two days till 7pm. Everyday homework, assignments, tests... Bina Insan Guru camp is just around the corner... Oh... Holiday! I'm looking forward to enjoy you! PS: no radio for me also... like living in ancient caves... no news to read even major press...

After 14 days of training college...

First week, orientation week for the new batch of trainee teachers. Full schedule, woke up early morning to do exercise... rush from hostel to every venue... Lectures... Talks... non-stop. Then, nightmares began after orientation week. As for orientation week, each meal provided, including refreshment after the morning and afternoon talks. But after orientation week, the kafe closes at 7pm every weekday, weekend, at 4pm. So, where is my dinner then?? First day, we didn't know. So, rushed to the kafe to find out that the door was closed. Ok, we walked 10 minutes to the main gate, handed out our temporary passes, only we walked outside the school to eat at mamak stall for dinner. From that day on, dinner = walk 10 minutes to front gate, and then walk a distance more to eat at mamak stall, then walk back again to the hostel. Later only we found out that the kafe in other blocks are up doing business, only the kafe in our block close early. So, what to do, walk to get dinner or eat mag...

New year resolution

This year's resolution would be: to be alive in the end of the year! I'm going to attend KPLI (Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah)on 14 Jan. From what I heard from senior, there would be a 'bina semangat' camp, sure got kayak in the middle of the ocean, and once there's someone who washed away by the big waves. So, my resolution: to be alive! Another fear factors of mine: sports. I mean I like sports, but not me playing sports! So, sure die on this category too. So, my resolution again: to be alive! If you want to see me, please attend any CNY gathering or for as long as you can on MSN or WIndows Messenger. I surely need the bless from all of you! Please pray that I will survive!

The last day, the first day

Wow! Finally the last day of 2006, coming on the first day of 2007. Not a happy 2006 year though, with all those natural disasters happened last minute in the nick of time, as if to prove God is always there to punish on our human sins. The flood, not to far away from me, because my grandparents still worry they will stcuk in the heavy rain. They live in Johor, the area that still not yet affected by the great power of cats and dogs. But half way to their house was quite adventurous, according to my little sister, who experienced the first ever water coming into the car during the journey. I was exceptional, as I won't be home for Christmas, missing the trip to my grandparent's house. I hope the clouds will clear soon, and not coming to Penang for God's sake, 'coz I'll be in Penang until my mid semester holiday and Chinese New Year. Chinese belief water brings money and prosperity, hope this blood brings some good in the coming new year.

Bowling here I come!

haha! Last friday, which is Dong Zhi (the coldest day in winter), I went bowling with Siew Ling, Lian Huey and Zui Yu. 3 out of 4 of us, this is the first time we play bowling! And when we get there, we didn't even know the rules of paying the games, haha! And the ball, huh, the lightest ball is also very heavy! My ball alllll went into the 'longkang'! We played two games, first game, I got the lowest mark, 36 only, second game I became the highest! Duno why, but although I strike once, but my strength is still not enough, coz my ball 'walk' slowly towards the end of the pin! My 'coach' siew ling said, your aiming is good, work up your strength. I said, man, if I could play hard, I will. The commentator, also Siew Ling, said that all of the players have good potential, only need more training! Wow! We're pro, man! But not enough $$$ to invest in training, that's all. A special experience of bowling! Next time, better try ice skating before getting to...

Mixed pair in the semis (Asia Doha)

Fairuzizuan-Pei Tty upstaged the top Korean pair of Lee Jae-jin-Lee Hyo-jung in a quarter-final match in Doha last night. Fairuzizuan-Pei Tty defeated the world number eight 22-20, 11-21, 21-13 to earn a place in the semi-finals against China’s Zheng Bo-Gao Ling. I watched the late night delay telecast. Oh no! Pei Tty is not very good in coordination with Fairu. Sometimes they clashed their rackets together. And she also made some mistakes that shouldn't be made. But maybe Lee Jae-jin was making mistakes as much as in the early match with Koo-Tan. So this gave Malaysian pair luck! And Lee Hyo-jung, although the Korean pair lost, but her back hand smash was awesome! She could back hand smashed until the shuttler was out! How powerful she is! Yeah! For now, we can also expect another medal from this mixed double! And who knows? Maybe this pair will create the history of clinching a medal in mixed double game.

Another trip again to Kek Lok Si temple

Image
I went to Kek Lok Si recently, nothing really changed. The visitors were mainly primary students with their teachers. And poor me, Siau Chee and Shun Yi became their protable human camera tripod for them! Haha! It's quite fun having children all around you. Made you think that you are old (?!) and you still own the something tiny childish thing in you. Here's a few photos of us. Besides being others human tripod, we took our own shots. The left is the only picture with three of us! haha! The right is the Kek Lok Si pagoda and I! Admire our skills to shot it in the same frame?! Haha! We are the best photographers!

Course Review

Actually a good movie should not be reviewed. We have less words that we could use when come to giving credits to someone or something. So does this course, LHP 459, that I took. At first, I took this course, out of good reputation from the previous year, when my coursemates took it as part of our major papers. Out to our surprise that this course is not even boring! So, they had tried, we have a good profile, so I go for it this year. Luckily this course conducted this year did not let me down at all. I still enjoy what they had enjoy, pleasure through learning, a precious element that seldom exist in english learning course, as far as I experienced, haha! I enjoyed this course. The movie reviewing, the lyrics making, the sharing opinion part is what that kill me most. I dislike expressing in public, so, this is the part that I need to overcome my own fear to meet the course requirement. But the learning surrounding was great. My classmates, luckily, didn't create a so-called comp...

The worst Day!

Huh! I had the worst day in this semester yesterday! I had to meet two assignments yesterday, one is for my Japanese minor course, which was to prepare specific vocabulary for a special field, another one is for Sociolinguistic. Huh! Then the debate! I can’t even debate in my own mother tongue well, and now in English! Our group’s topic is homosexuality should be excepted or not? I think I did well, ‘coz I didn’t pause too long or stumble. Later in the evening, test for Semantics. At last, another interview, two in a week roll. Huh! Luckily I survived after these terrible nightmares! Haha! At last no assignments awaiting me! Heeeee! Oops! I forget about LHP459 final project! Next week, the last to conquer!

Haha! We made our own song!
